Existing Practice Case Studies
A number of institutions throughout the United Kingdom have been
doing their own work with regards to a gender balance in their undergraduate
engineering population. In this section the Balance Project has
interviewed the members of each University who are responsible for
these activities and documented them. Please use the links below
to read each report or download the PDF version.

Personal Profiles
The engineering industry has for years had a bad reputation and
stereotypical image of dirty, boring work. In this section a member
of the Balance team has interviewed women and men who have worked,
or are currently working, in the engineering industry and documented
their history. For privacy reasons the names of all people and companies
have been removed from the reports.

National Initiatives
There are a number of initiatives undertaken by various organisations
and charities across the United Kingdom, and some from further afield,
that are working to increase the popularity of engineering, change
it's image or support those already in it. In this section Balance
has provided a link to almost thirty initiatives and provided a
brief description of each one.
